On Monday, Library and Archives Canada restored access to the newly released census images indexed by province, district and sub-district. The same images are available at LAC and Ancestry. If you have a choice it seemed to me the images loaded marginally faster at Ancestry.
I also found Ancestry’s descriptions of sub-districts helpful. It made searching a little faster.
I have used both and much prefer Ancestry. You can see the entire page at Ancestry, and when you enlarge, just a small section of th e page at LAC.
I was able to use LAC’s 1931 search yesterday evening…I agree, though – Ancestry does load a little faster… I sure hope the techs who got this working again were paid overtime!!
